1. MANAGER – MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING Job Title: Manager – Management Accounting (1 Post) Job Reference Number: GDC/CS/HRM/MA/01/2025 Terms of Employment: 5 Year Contract Renewable subject to Performance Job Grade: GDC3 Department: Management Accounting Reporting to: General Manager - Finance & Investment a) Job Summary The job holder is charged with ensuring prudent allocation and utilization of financial resources. b) Job Specification Duties and responsibilities will entail: - i. Providing technical leadership to teams in the department to enable them to develop, implement and evaluate strategic management plans and budgets aimed at improving performance standards and achievement of organizational goals ii. Effective allocation of financial resources to meet the company's strategic goals and objectives by forecasting and planning iii. Prepare management reports for decision making iv. Carry out Financial Analysis including Project Costing and Budget Variance Analysis and take corrective measures where applicable v. Prepare of annual budgets, supplementary budgets, budgets for Development Partner Funds, and Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) vi. Ensure the effective utilization of allocated resources by departments while implementing funds re-allocation requests and funds release, budget variance analysis and budget co-ordination vii. Analyse costs for decision making which will entail project costing, consultancy costing, hire of equipment costing and other financial analysis viii. Ensuring compliance with Treasury regulations and procedures ix. Billing for supplies and services rendered by the Company x. Generating funds reports to inform and facilitate decision making xi. Submit funds reports to the relevant Stakeholders xii. Manage staff performance within the department xiii. Mentoring and coaching the departmental staff xiv. Coordinating and implementing identified performance contracting targets c) Person Specifications For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: i. A minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant work experience, four (4) of which must have been in a managerial role ii. Master’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution iii. Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance option) or its equivalent iv. Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks (cumulative) v. CPA (K) of the Certified Public Accountants or its equivalent vi. Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) as a CPA(K) or any other relevant professional body vii. Proficiency in Computer Applications viii. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya d) Key Competencies and Skills i. Good communication skills ii.
