1. MANAGER - CORPORATE PROTECTIVE SERVICES Job Title: Manager - Corporate Protective Services (1 Post) Job Reference Number: GDC/CS/HRM/CPS/01/2025 Terms of Employment: 5 Year Contract Renewable subject to Performance Job Grade: GDC3 Department: Corporate Protective Services Reporting to: General Manager - Corporate Services a) Job Summary The job holder is responsible for overall security within the company to mitigate physical and cyber security risks to the organization. b) Job Specification Duties and responsibilities will entail: - i. Provide subject matter expertise, advice and solutions that mitigate physical and cyber security risks ii. Provide Corporate Security Support Services as required including but not limited to prioritizing, developing and implementing Physical Security, Emergency Preparedness, Travel Safety Management, Investigations and Safety Strategies iii. Assess and mitigate the potential threats faced by a company and regularly evaluate the risks and develop solutions to mitigate the threats iv. Coordinate planning, designing, and installation of technical security systems including but not limited to monitoring and conducting surveillance on all GDC project areas, assets and offices v. Perform investigations to identify and apprehend perpetrators of crimes such as theft, fraud, or computer hacking vi. Oversee contracted security services and provide applicable training and sensitization initiatives on key security practices that are specific to the needs of the company vii. Develop and maintain quality relationships with security service providers and take actions to ensure that the company’s needs are met through robust performance monitoring and evaluation of key deliverables by the service provider viii. Develop and enforce safety and security policies, taking steps to ensure there is adequate communication concerning response to emergency situations ix. Monitor and ensure full compliance with all applicable safety and security regulations x. Develop strategies and put in place appropriate controls for all admissions within the GDC operational areas and offices xi. Advising the MD and CEO on all matters security xii. Ensuring protection of life and property within GDC precincts xiii. Monitoring all alarm and surveillance systems and provide periodic reports on security matters c) Person Specifications i. A minimum period of twelve (12) years relevant work experience, four (4) years must of which have been in a managerial role ii. Bachelor’s degree in security management, Criminology, Social Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution iii. Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Security Management,1 Criminology, Social Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution iv. Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks (cumulative) v. Membership of relevant professional body vi. Proficiency in Computer Applications vii. Fulfilled the requirements of chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 d) Key Competencies and Skills i. Good Interpersonal skills ii. Team player iii. Good analytical skills iv.
