1. MANAGER - CORPORATE PLANNING & PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

Job Title: Manager - Corporate Planning & Performance Management (1 Post)

Job Reference Number: GDC/CS/HRM/CPPM/01/2025

Terms of Employment: 5 Year Contract Renewable subject to Performance

Job Grade: GDC3

Department: Corporate Planning & Performance Management

Reporting to: General Manager - Strategy & Planning

a) Job Summary

The job holder is responsible for the development of the Company’s business and strategic plans, resource mobilization, business appraisal and monitoring of the Corporate Performance

b) Job Specification

Duties and responsibilities will entail: -

i. Overseeing the efficient coordination of the functions and sections within the department

ii. Overseeing the facilitation of economic studies as part of the geothermal design and tender documentation process

iii. Providing technical and advisory support to stakeholders

iv. Building capacity for economic analysis related to geothermal development and coordinating economic reviews of the geothermal projects

v. Provide marketing initiatives through creating marketing plans and executing on marketing and business development programs through collateral development and other marketing outreach programs

vi. Establishing and maintaining linkages with consultants and other Stakeholders on economic matters

vii. Overseeing formulation of policies, strategies, procedures, and systems for identifying alternative sources of revenue in the company

viii. Reviewing potential business proposals, facilitating negotiations for contracts for alternative revenue sources and overseeing implementation of income generation activities

ix. Coordinating the development and implementation of local and international resource mobilization strategies

x. Initiating the formulation and implementation of the Company’s policies, strategies, procedures, and systems

xi. Initiating technical audits for works and services, including preparation of reports on quality assurance findings and recommendations

xii. Coordinating the preparation of risk assessment and classification system/criteria

xiii. Overseeing identification of priority areas for risk assessment and mitigation planning, including risk assessment process, compilation, and consolidation of risk management periodic reports

xiv. Preparing and reviewing the Company’s Strategic Plans

xv. Overseeing the preparation of annual work programmes and budgets for geothermal planning and development

c) Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -

i. A minimum of twelve (12) years of work experience, four (4) of which must have been in a managerial role.

ii. Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Commerce, Economics, Business, Project Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution

iii. Master's degree in any of the following disciplines: - Commerce, Economics, Business, Project Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution

iv. Training in any of the following disciplines: Project Management, Balance Score Card or any other Planning and Strategy Tool or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution

v. Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks (cumulative)

vi. Membership of relevant professional body

vii. Proficiency in computer applications

viii. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya1
