Job Grade: GDC 3 Department: Geothermal Resource Management Reports To: General Manager – Geothermal Resource Development Salary Range: KES 220,000 – KES 330,000 per month. a) Job DescriptionDuties and responsibilities of a Manager/Senior Principal Reservoir Scientist will entail: - i. Providing leadership in the development and implementation of geothermal development strategies including development of departmental work-plans and budgets. ii. Developing policies and procedures to achieve the company’s strategic objective in the management of reservoirs and steam fields. iii. Providing leadership and ensuring efficient and effective management of staff and resources. iv. Facilitating planning and implementation of geoscientific surface exploration and heat flow measurements of geothermal fields. v. Coordinating the process of identification and ranking of geothermal prospects. vi. Spearheading well-siting and targeting processes and monitoring the drilling process. vii. Implementing and managing steam gathering system and steam supply contracts to ensure quality steam delivery to the power plants. b) Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: i. A minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant work experience four (4) years must be in Supervision role. ii. Master’s degree in: - Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Civil, Electrical, Chemical, Mining), or Earth/Geological Science, Geology, Geochemistry, Geothermal Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. iii. Bachelor’s degree in: - Engineering, (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Civil, Electrical, Chemical, Mining) or Earth/Geological Science, Geology, Chemistry, Geochemistry, Physics or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. iv. Post Graduate Diploma in Geothermal Energy Technology or an equivalent from a recognized institution. v. Management course lasting not less four (4) weeks (cumulative). vi. Be a member of Geothermal Association of Kenya (GAK) or any relevant professional body/association. vii. Proficiency in computer applications. viii. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya. i. Analytical ii. Initiative iii. Management iv. Leadership v. Negotiation skills |
