Job Title: Manager – Drilling Operations (1 Post) Job Reference Number: GDC/HRM/DI/DO/MDO/01/20256 Terms of Employment: Five (5) Year Contract, renewable subject to satisfactory performance. Job Grade: GDC 3 Department: Drilling Operations Reports To: General Manager – Drilling & Infrastructure Salary Range: KES 220,000 – KES 330,000 per month. a) Job DescriptionDuties and responsibilities will entail: i. Aligning departmental strategic goals and objectives with the company’s strategic goals and objectives and ensure implementation for achievement of the company’s mandate. ii. Setting departmental performance targets and work plans in line with the department’s performance targets and ensuring their achievement. iii. Development and monitoring of the department’s annual budget and procurement plan and monitor for effective and efficient delivery of drilling operations. iv. Providing leadership on staffing, development and performance management programs while ensuring staff are motivated for good team performance. v. Spearheading support negotiations and building of relationship with external service providers to the benefit of the company’s image, cost and long-term support on material and service delivery. vi. Overseeing the establishment and implementation of a sound risk management system within the department. vii. Ensuring the drilling operation is on schedule and the well orientation and azimuth is as targeted. b) Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: - i. A minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant work experience, four (4) years of which should have in a management role. ii. Master’s Degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution. iii. Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following Engineering fields: - Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Electronics, Agricultural, Mining Engineering, Energy/Geothermal/ Drilling Technology, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. iv. Management course lasting not more than four (4) weeks. v. Registered Professional by Engineers Board of Kenya/ Kenya Engineering Technology Registration Board or equivalent. vi.
