Job Title: Manager – Treasury & Investment (1 Post)

Job Reference Number: GDC/HRM/FI/TI/MTI/01/2026

Terms of Employment: Five (5) Year Contract Renewable subject to Performance

Job Grade: GDC3

Department: Treasury & Investment

Reporting to: General Manager – Finance & Investment

Salary Range: Kes: 220,000.00 – 330,000.00

 

Job Description

Duties and responsibilities will entail:

i.       Providing technical leadership to the department to enable development, implementation and evaluation of strategic management plans and budgets aimed at improving performance standards and organizational.

ii.      Managing allocation of financial resources effectively to meet the Company’s strategic goals and objectives.

iii.    Master cash and liquidity management by aligning cash management with strategic goals, leveraging liquidity to maximize returns, and mitigating borrowing costs through strategic spending.

iv.    Lead financial risk management by quantifying and addressing financial risks, safeguarding against non-financial risks and understanding risk appetite and alignment.

v.     Secure funding from capital markets and other sources by understanding capital markets and funding options, negotiating optimal terms, building strong external relationships, and making the right decisions on asset acquisitions.

vi.    Develop appropriate cost structures and assessing investments.

vii.   Implement cash management processes.

viii.  Manage the organization’s debt by ensuring compliance with borrowing facilities and agreements and reporting covenants.

ix.    Manage the organization’s risk including interest rate risk, foreign exchange risk and develop risk mitigation strategies.

x.     Prepare financial, investment and asset management reports.

xi.    Monitor asset performance and recommend corrective measures.

xii.   Develop strategies to increase ROI and minimize risk factors and losses on corporate assets.

xiii.  Facilitate the development and implementation of financial and internal controls.

xiv. Develop and implement investment strategies.

xv.   Ensuring compliance with Treasury regulations and procedures.

xvi. Managing staff matters within the department including performance, mentoring, and coaching and coordinating and implementing identified performance contracting targets.

Job Specification

b)            Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

     i.        A minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant work experience, four (4) of which must have been in a managerial role.

    ii.        Master’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.

  iii.        Bachelor’s degree in commerce (Accounting or Finance option) or its equivalent.

  iv.        Management course lasting not less four (4) weeks (cumulative).

    v.        CPA (K) of the Certified Public Accountants or its equivalent.

  vi.        Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) as a CPA(K) or any other relevant professional body.

 vii.        Proficiency in computer applications.

viii.        Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
