Job Title: Manager, Corporate Communications (1 Post)

Job Reference Number: GDC/HRM/CS/CC/MCC/01/2026

Terms of Employment: Five (5) Year Contract Renewable subject to Performance

Job Grade: GDC3

Department: Corporate Communications

Reporting to: General Manager – Corporate Services

Salary Range: Kes: 220,000.00 – 330,000.00

 

Job Description

Duties and responsibilities will entail:

i.       Providing technical leadership to teams in the department to enable them to develop, implement and evaluate strategic management plans and budgets aimed at improving performance and meeting set targets.

ii.      Coordinating departmental planning, budgeting and procurement plans.

iii.    Facilitating capacity building of staff within the department.

iv.    Implementing the GDC brand promotion and public relations programs.

v.     Developing communication strategies for the company.

vi.    Overseeing and managing external communication including public relations, event management, social media, and reputation management.

vii.   Coordinating developing and disseminating information externally through various communications channels.

viii.  Oversee external customer experience.

ix.    Media Management.

x.     Monitoring implementation of communication and PR programs.

xi.    Monitoring the impact of the applied marketing strategies and make necessary amendments.

xii.   Preparing marketing plans and monitoring implementation.

Job Specification

b)              Person Specifications

     i.        A minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant work experience four (4) of which must have been in a managerial role.

    ii.        Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Mass Media, Journalism, Journalism and Mass Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Communication and Public relations, Community Development, Social Sciences, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

  iii.        Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Mass Media, Journalism, Journalism and Mass Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Communication and Public relations, Community Development, Social Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

  iv.        Management course lasting not less four (4) weeks (cumulative).

    v.        Membership of PRSK, MSK any relevant professional body/institute.

  vi.        Proficiency in computer applications

 vii.        Fulfilled the requirements of chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
